Refund & Returns Policy
We want you to be satisfied with every purchase. This policy explains when and how you can return an item, request a refund, or cancel an order.

1. Overview
EVShop is a Sri Lanka–based online shop selling electrical parts and components. This Refund & Returns Policy applies to orders placed through our website and delivered within Sri Lanka. It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms & Conditions.
If something is wrong with your order, please contact us first at support@evshop.lk — most issues can be resolved quickly.
2. Return Eligibility
You may request a return within 7 days of receiving your order, provided the item meets all of the following conditions:
- It is unused, uninstalled, and in the same condition in which you received it;
- It is in its original packaging, with all labels, manuals, and accessories included;
- You can provide proof of purchase (order number or receipt).
Returns requested after 7 days, or for items that do not meet these conditions, may be declined or accepted at our discretion.
3. Non-Returnable Items
For safety, technical, and hygiene reasons, the following generally cannot be returned unless they are faulty or were sent in error:
- Electrical components that have been installed, wired, fitted, or modified;
- Items damaged by misuse, incorrect installation, overloading, or accident after delivery;
- Batteries and cells that have been charged, connected, or used;
- Custom-ordered, special-order, or cut-to-order items;
- Products with broken safety seals or missing serial numbers;
- Clearance or marked "as-is" items, where stated at the time of purchase.
4. Faulty, Damaged or Wrong Items
If your item arrives faulty, damaged in transit, or you received the wrong product, we will make it right at no cost to you. Please:
- Contact us within 48 hours of delivery;
- Include your order number and clear photos of the item and packaging;
- Keep the original packaging until the issue is resolved.
Once verified, we will offer a replacement, repair, or full refund — including any return shipping costs.
5. How to Request a Return
- Email support@evshop.lk with your order number and the reason for the return.
- Wait for our confirmation and return instructions before sending anything back — items returned without prior approval may not be accepted.
- Pack the item securely in its original packaging.
- Send it to the return address we provide, and share the tracking details with us.
We aim to acknowledge return requests within 14 business days.
6.Return Shipping Costs
- If the item is faulty, damaged, or incorrect: we cover the return shipping cost.
- If you are returning for another reason (for example, you changed your mind or ordered the wrong part): you are responsible for the return shipping cost, and the original delivery charge is non-refundable.
- We recommend using a trackable courier, as we cannot be responsible for items lost in return transit.
7. Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will notify you whether your refund is approved.
- Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method — for example, the card used via PayHere or Genie, or the bank account used for a bank transfer.
- Refunds are normally processed within 7–14 business days of approval. The time it takes to appear in your account depends on your bank or payment provider.
- Where a partial refund applies (for example, a missing accessory or signs of use), we will explain the amount before processing it.
8. Exchanges
If you need a different item — for example, the correct size, voltage, or model — contact us to arrange an exchange. Exchanges are subject to stock availability. If the replacement costs more or less than the original, we will arrange to collect or refund the difference.
9. Order Cancellations
You may request to cancel an order before it has been dispatched. If your order has already been dispatched, it will be treated as a return once you receive it. To cancel, contact us as soon as possible with your order number. Refunds for cancelled, pre-dispatch orders are issued in full to the original payment method.
10. Warranty Claims
Some products carry a manufacturer's warranty covering genuine defects. Warranty claims are handled separately from returns and are subject to the terms set by the manufacturer. Warranties do not cover wear and tear, misuse, or damage from improper installation. For details, see the Warranty section of our Terms & Conditions.
11. Late or Missing Refunds
If you have not received an approved refund within the expected time, please:
- Check your bank account or payment statement again;
- Contact your card provider or bank, as processing times vary;
- If you have done both and still have not received it, contact us at support@evshop.lk and we will follow up.
12. Your Statutory Rights
This policy is offered in addition to — and does not limit — your rights as a consumer under Sri Lankan law, including the Consumer Affairs Authority Act, No. 9 of 2003. Nothing in this policy removes any legal right you have to a remedy for goods that are faulty or not as described.
